Viewing, Downloading, and Printing PDF Files (Windows 95 / 98 / ME / 2000 / XP)

Viewing PDF files on a Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP system

With the Adobe Reader installed, when you click on any PDF file link on the Web, the file will automatically open within your browser’s window. An Adobe Reader tool bar will also appear underneath your regular browser tool bars. You can now navigate through the file, reading it as you would any other document.

Downloading PDF files to a Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP System

There are three ways you can download PDF files and store them on your computer.

  1. We recommend downloading the file directly to your computer by right-clicking on the PDF link, and then choosing the "Save Target As" (Internet Explorer) or "Save Link As" (Firefox) option in the pop-up menu. A Save As dialogue box will appear. Select a location on your computer where you wish to save the file, then click the Save button.
  2. While viewing the PDF within your browser, click on the Save a Copy icon on the Adobe Reader toolbar. A Save As dialogue box will appear. Choose a location on your computer where you wish to save the file, then click on the Save button.
  3. Alternatively, while viewing the PDF file within your browser, you can also choose the Save Page As option under the File menu tab of your browser, or hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and press S. This method will also bring up the Save As dialogue box.

Printing PDF files

You can print PDF files by clicking on the Print icon on the Adobe Reader toolbar, or by choosing the Print option under the File menu tab of your browser.
