Viewing, Downloading, and Printing PDF Files (Macintosh OS X)Viewing PDF files on a Macintosh computerMacs running OS X can view PDF files using the built-in reader, Preview, or by downloading and installing Adobe Reader. Using the built-in reader, clicking on any PDF link on the Web will download the file and automatically open it in Preview. When Adobe Reader is installed a browser plug-in is also installed.
